A man has died in hospital after a ‘drive-by’ shooting outside a party in Essex.
Police received reports that he was shot multiple times by a group of people in a car.
Two women also received gunshot wounds but their injuries were not life threatening.
A murder investigation has been launched after the victim, a man in his 50s, died this afternoon following the shooting on Saturday, Essex Police said.
The incident happened on Water Lane in Roydon shortly before 5am.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Greg Wood, said: ‘This is now a murder investigation and we will continue our work to find those responsible for this man’s death, and bring them to justice.
‘Our investigation is progressing well and we’re beginning to build up a picture of what happened, but we still need anyone with information to come forward.’
Police earlier said that the victims were outside the address having attended a party when they were shot.
Officers have appealed for anyone with information or footage of the incident to contact Essex Police, referencing incident 169 of June 13.
